Prototyping
The prototypes can be made in plastic material (3D printer) or in the metal of the final product (CNC machines). The plastic prototype, obtained through 3D printing, offers greater design flexibility and the possibility of carrying out multiple project iterations.
Ground casting
Ground casting is an artisanal process which, thanks to the skill and passion of expert hands, makes each product unique and each handle exclusive.
CNC machining
We create customized handles through machining, starting from a drawing, using numerical control machines or automatic lathes. This process allows us to perform very high precision parts in aluminum, brass or steel and to satisfy all customer needs.
Jewelery
Engravings made by hand by master chisellers, coming from the most prestigious art schools, who, only after years of learning and practicing manual skills, are going to create real works of art in the matter. The strong ability to imprint the chisel or burin all with a diamond tip, have pushed us to create textures that are all similar but none the same, giving the various products a new shape and unpredictable shine. Talking about the products on which we operate is practically impossible because everything can be made into a real jewel by the hands of our engravers.
Finishing
Our finishes are a perfect synthesis between tradition and technology, and their quality of execution is certified by a careful control of the individual pieces. We perform manual finishes that transform a handle into a unique and exclusive piece. We manually apply fine waxes to protect, antiquing, polishing and waterproofing the handles using materials and procedures usually used for the restoration of works of art.

1 · Briefing
Briefing

The creation of a customized handle starts from the customer's idea and the environment in which it will be placed.
The briefing between our technical staff and the customer is essential to better understand the initial idea and identify general solutions necessary to make it happen. The definition of the materials and of the product profile are essential to create a customized handle tailored to specific needs. The needs and personal taste of the designers meet in this phase with the experience and professionalism of the technical team of Fama International.
Once the feasibility, style, functionality and materials have been defined, we sketch the "Concept Handle" that is a series of notes containing all the guidelines useful in the design phase. The conceptual phase is the first step towards the feasibility of the project and the putting into production of the handle.
2 · Planning

Before designing, we carefully rework all aspects and needs defined in the initial briefing. A constructive collaboration with the customer is essential at this stage in order to propose a preliminary draft in a short time and with the utmost attention to detail. The dialogue with the customer will allow us to finalize the executive project at a later time.

The product in the design phase is represented through photorealistic images and real “3D animation” that clearly describe its style and functionality.
4 · Prototyping
Prototyping
Prototyping is a set of different industrial techniques that allow the realization of the "prototype", that is the realization of one or more samples as it was conceived in the design phase. Through the prototype we allow the customer to visualize, in a short time and effectively, the simulation of how the product will turn out.
The prototypes can be made in plastic material (3D printer) or in the metal of the final product (CNC machines). The plastic prototype, obtained through 3D printing, offers greater design flexibility and the possibility of carrying out multiple project iterations.
The validation of the project by the customer is done by comparing technical drawings and assembly videos with the prototype made.
5 · Processing

Ground casting is an artisanal process which, thanks to the skill and passion of expert hands, makes each product unique and each handle exclusive.
From a model shaped by hand, through a skilful artisan method, we create customized brass, bronze or aluminum handles, following the shapes and design defined together with the customer.
Mold
making
Fama products that require high quality and mechanical properties, are hot forged in brass and copper alloys, because compared to other metal transformation processes, brass hot forging has undoubted advantages in terms of material integrity, dimensional tolerances and surface finish.
The products made from the mold allow us to obtain a better surface finish, thanks to a compact and glossy surface.

polishing
To complete the customized handles, we perform both standard finishes (chrome, nickel plating, bronzing, pvd), and antique finishes (bronze or silver plating), precious and trendy, dedicating extreme attention to every detail.
